Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

1.  How do I get on to a team?

  1. Everyone registers and pays as an individual in Lakewood Baseball Club
    1. Simply register and you will be placed on a team, either through draft or placement.
    2. Those attending same schools will often be grouped together. 

2.  Are there try-outs or evaluations?

  1. There are no try-outs to play baseball in Lakewood. 
  2. If weather and time allows, we will attempt to hold evaluations, however this may not be possible with the time restrictions.

3.  I played in 2023...

  1. If you are in the Shetland and Pinto Divisions, register as an individual and you will be placed on a team.
  2. If you are entering Mustang, Bronco, Pony or Colt...
    1. You will register as an individual and you will be placed on a team via draft.
    2. Depending on number of individuals/teams registering, we will try to hold evaluations. 

4.  What equipment/uniform items do I need to get for my child?

  1. Each player receives a baseball jersey and a hat as part of their registrationLeague registration normally covers a majority of costs.  Players should have access to a glove and cup (for boys).  Please consult your coach before purchasing equipment if you have any questions. Batting helmets are supplied by the League; however, this may be an item you may wish to consider purchasing.
  2. There are no league specifics in regards to pant colors, however each team will be given a team color and you may want to coordinate socks and belts with your coach.

5.  A coach asked me to join their team.

  1. Congratulations!
    1. We must ask though if you are eligible.
    2. Each returning coach may "reserve" 3 players, beyond that, most players will be assigned via draft or school placement.

6.  Can I volunteer?

  1. Yes! We always are in the need for anyone willing to give of their time. LBC is 100% run by volunteers like you.

  3. Any person having unsupervised contact with players, must register and submit information for a WSP Background Check.

7. When do practices & games start this year?

  1. We are planning on having teams formed by the 2nd week of March.  At that time the coaches will reach out to each family on their team. This is when you will get a bulk of your information for the season. 

8.  How can I support LBC? psst!  Anyone can support

  1. Like and Share our Facebook and Twitter Pages.  This goes a long way!
  2. Donate used baseball gear and or equipment.  (Please make sure items are in good working condition); contact our Director of Operations.  This is a great way to give back to the community and support others who are in need!
